In addition to thoroughbred racing, Hyland Sportswear also manufactures and distributes a full range of harness products including harness colours and trousers. Prior to the business' conception, Gerard Hyland had gained an expert understanding of clothing manufacturing through his early working years. From humble early beginnings where he sold racing colours and race gear to jockeys at track work, Gerard and his wife Claudia, have built a formidable reputation in servicing jockeys, trainers, owners and race clubs throughout Australasia and the world.

Over the years, Hyland Sportswear has specialized in extra light weight race gear for jockeys. Owners and trainers purchase their individually designed racing colours whilst race clubs and sponsors also purchase an array of race day products and promotional items.

Strategically located close to Caulfield Racecourse, the business premises are ideally located for easy access by customers. In addition to the manufacturing operations, the business has a fully-fitted showroom where customers can view samples, discuss products and receive a free fitting.

Hyland Sportswear has agents in all States and Territories within Australia. Internationally, the business has agents in the United Kingdom, New Zealand, Singapore, Macau, Japan and Hong Kong and Dubai. This allows the business to enjoy both strong local and export sales.
